It gives some specific examples of how to apply the agile values and principles in the workplace like not writing all your requirements up front and standups.

Furthermore, it explains that mimicking ‘What’ a business does or their agile practices is less important than understanding ‘Why’ they are doing that practice in alignment with the Agile Values and Principles.

I liken this to how people get fixated on adopting tools like Jira and then immediately standardising them across the organisation, when many teams work much faster and better with physical boards on a nearby wall.

I haven’t met Mark Shead, the author of this video personally, but I do appreciate his practicality.

The video is by the American agile software business VersionOne.  This tool is not well known in Australia, mostly because Jira is so cheap compared to the VersionOne price in US dollars.

However, they are the market leader globally and the software really is one of the best.
