Practical Examples of Agile Values & Principles Applied (Video)

This video (12 minutes) explains that Agile is the Agile Manifesto of 4 Values and 12 Principles that can guide decision making for better software development and delivering value to customers.

It gives some specific examples of how to apply the agile values and principles in the workplace like not writing all your requirements up front and standups.

Furthermore, it explains that mimicking ‘What’ a business does or their agile practices is less important than understanding ‘Why’ they are doing that practice in alignment with the Agile Values and Principles.

I liken this to how people get fixated on adopting tools like Jira and then immediately standardising them across the organisation, when many teams work much faster and better with physical boards on a nearby wall.

I haven’t met Mark Shead, the author of this video personally, but I do appreciate his practicality.
